The Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet has approved the Hajj Policy 2023.


The European Coordination Committee gave its approval at a meeting chaired by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in Islamabad on Monday.

The commission agreed to provide foreign exchange cover of $90 million for Hajj.

The Haj quota for Pakistan for 2023 is 179,210 people, which will be split between public and private Haj schemes in the ratio of 50:50.

For 2023, the temporary pilgrimage package is Rs 1,175,000 for North Region and Rs 1,165,000 for South Region.

The committee also approved an additional technical grant of Rs 12 billion to the Planning Committee for the 7th Census and Housing Census. He also approved Rs 3,244 million for poverty alleviation and social security programs under the National Poverty Eradication Programme.

The committee has delayed the 2023 report of the National Food Security and Research Department on urea fertilizer requirements.

The ECC has also postponed another briefing by the Ministry of Industries and Production on the 2023 policy for production of solar panels and related equipment.

Earlier, Ishaq Dar, Minister of Religious Affairs and Inter-Religious Harmony, Mufti Abd Al-Shakur stressed the need to provide maximum comfort to the pilgrims to make Hajj blessed and peaceful.
 


Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Fares



According to the latest report, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will resume pre-Hajj services from June 6 and continue till May 21. For the first time, national airlines pay for individual pilgrimages in US dollars. story. PIA has set a price of $1,180 for private sector pilgrims.

According to the PIA, airfares are likely to remain between $870-$1,180 for pilgrims from southern regions and -$910-1,220 for northern regions. Executive Economy Class pilgrims are allowed to carry checked baggage of up to 40 kg and hand luggage of up to 7 kg. Pilgrims traveling in economy class are also allowed to carry 7 kg of carry-on baggage and 35 kg of carry-on baggage.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has announced that the number of pilgrims allowed to perform Hajj in 2023 will be much higher this Hajj season. Nearly 180,000 pilgrims from Pakistan will be able to perform this year's hajj in July. Government Hajj Scheme 2023


The Ministry of Religious Affairs will not receive any support for Hajj this year, according to reports. It has become difficult to offer discounted Hajj packages due to the state of the global economy and the weakening of the Pakistani Rupee. Pakistan's Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has introduced a Welfare Scheme for approximately 22,400 pilgrims who pay their contributions in US dollars, according to which a special 25% share will be allocated in the state scheme for Hajj, and they will also be exempt from voting.

According to sources, the ministry will charge each pilgrim PKR 1.1 million under the state scheme, but the cost of Hajj could rise to PKR 1.3 million if the value of the Pakistani rupee depreciates further.
